Posted: December 24, 2011 in NFL, Washington Redskins

-14th-ranked passing offense face off against one of the NFL’s worst pass defenses

-Redskins’ pass defense has been solid, yielding 220.7 yards per game, tied for 13th in the NFL

-Grossman has a streak of 10 games in a row with at least one interception

-Grossman is tied for first in NFL with 22 giveaways

-Santana Moss: Redskins’ 17-13 loss to the Vikings at FedExField last year, Moss caught five passes for 40 yards

-Jabar Gaffney who has 58 catches for 842 yards and four touchdowns this season

-OL Willie Smith: Rookie who made his first appearance against New England challenging former Redskins Andre Carter. Played well against the New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, which is one of the game’s top pass rushers..he will have to keep up that momentum to battle against Vikings’ Jared Allen

-LB Perry Riley and LB London Fletcher will have to bring their best to stop the running game (Adrian Peterson)

Quick Stats:

*Perry has posted 70 tackles this season, including five for a loss

*Fletcher leads the entire NFL with 183 through Week 15

-Redskins secondary need to continue to execute

-average of 260.4 passing yards per game, ranked 30th in the league

-Vikings nine straight games without intercepting a pass

-Weak in the secondary

-Adrian Peterson: There’s a reason for his “All Day” nick name. Earlier this season he suffered from a high ankle sprain, which obviously was a set back. However, when Peterson is a threat when he is healthy.

Quick stats:

*only needs 68-yds to reach 1,000 rushing-yds for his fifth consecutive season

*has 13 touchdowns tying him second in the league among RBs

*averaging 4.8 yds per-carry (currently his best since winning the rushing title in 2008)

-Jared Allen: Another threat, he has 17.5 sacks, just half a sack behind Philadelphia Eagles’s Jason Babin. Who the Redskins will face for their season finale next week
